چکیده

Assessing concrete quality as construction goes on provides early warnings of potential flaws and leads to timely corrections in mix proportioning placement techniques. Compressive strength maturity modeling are among the most common parameters used by industry. Past studies indicated that non-destructive methods, NDTs, relate well predictions. In this study, hydration temperature–time history was explored defining “master curves” for first time. Well-accepted such ultrasonic pulse velocity resonant frequency, were effort. The study findings novel approach can be defined follow a generalized logarithmic form. best fit models relating NDT response product provided high coefficient determination (i.e., almost all cases above 0.9 p < 0.05), thus resulting very good fit. shift factors each mixture’s function relation master curve related properties. shifted functions from mixtures included had perfect transition data overlap trend line with an R2 = 1). NDTs’ ability capture temperature-time assessed impeded sensors into mixtures. This has prediction accuracy agreement between observed predicted values 0.93). proposed NDT-based through curve” development significant benefits traditional since it offers opportunity to: (i) predict without having repeat testing time producer adjusts mixture fine tune design; (ii) save cost due reduced evaluation use curves; (iii) able quickly further what gain will variations proportioning. monitor maturity, strength, NDTs reinforced is particular interest using cores problematic presence reinforcement.

Artificial neural networks for non destructive testing of concrete structures

In this paper, the determination of defects in concrete structures using an ultrasound technique is discussed. A diagnostic model for concrete pillars by means of Multi Layer Perceptron neural networks is developed to locate and classify the defects. Finite Elements numerical techniques have been used to model a concrete pillar of specified size (i.e., rectangular cross section and 2 meters in ...

Non-destructive Impulse Response S’mash Method for Concrete Pile Testing

Nowadays, in the civil engineering practice, the pile-building is the most universal type of foundation. It is usually associated with bridges, fly-overs and other civil engineering objects, industrial buildings, tall buildings, chimneys, tanks etc [1]. It is essential to control the quality of concrete piles. The most accepted weight-bearing capacity measurement technique is the static probe l...

Non-Linear Non-Destructive Evaluation of Concrete

This paper explains non-linear non-destructive evaluation of concrete aimed at examining the occurrence of non-linearity under non-linear wave propagation through the concrete. Standard cubic concrete sections in damaged and undamaged conditions were investigated. The specimen was first damaged under compression testing and then subjected to non-linear ultrasonic evaluation in two directions i....
